1,000 Days

Good nutrition in the 1,000 days between a woman’s pregnancy and her child’s second birthday sets the foundation for all the days that follow. 1,000 Days is the leading nonprofit organization working to ensure a healthy first 1,000 days for mothers and children everywhere.

Originally founded in 2010 by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and other nonprofit organizations, 1,000 Days achieved independent 501(c)(3) status in 2015. It was the perfect time to engage with Visceral and revisit their brand and the ways in which they champion the cause, advocate for women and children and mobilize supporters.

This was an opportunity to refresh the brand and develop an online experience that would help 1,000 Days connect to mothers-to-be and policy makers, their primary audiences.

A new look

A logo refresh spearheaded the creation of a new visual identity better aligned with 1,000 Days’ position as the leading voice in infant nutrition and gave them a visual language for building momentum around their cause.

A new platform

Built on WordPress, Visceral created a site that serves as an information platform to highlight key issues, connect supporters to the latest nutrition and health reports in the field and assists supporters in finding ways to take action.

Connecting with Supporters

The new site connects supporters with the issues and ways to take action, helping new mothers and advocates understand the importance of nutrition in the first 1,000 days of a child’s life.

As 1,000 Days grows, they have the ability to create campaign specific pages, such as the #FAIRSTART campaign, that motivate users to champion the cause. The flexibility of the site enables it to adapt and promote these initiatives and engage supporters.

Calls-to-action

Whether it be building social-momentum, signing a petition or making a donation, the site connects supporters with many ways to take action.

Sharing Knowledge

The site puts mothers in touch with the information they need to make healthy decisions for their infants on their journey from pregnancy to the first 1,000 days.
