UX Designer

About Visceral

Visceral is a creative agency specializing in brand strategy and digital design for visionary ideas that make our world a better place. As a Certified B Corporation, we strive to positively impact our communities, environment, and team. Above all, we exist to create world-class products with real-world impact.

About the UX Designer Position

As a UX Designer, you are more than a top-notch visual designer: You are a strategic and conceptual thinker who loves a challenge. You are a strong communicator who is comfortable pitching ideas to clients, asking difficult questions, and challenging assumptions. You geek out over UI details, color, and typography, but love content strategy and information architecture. Most importantly, you believe in the power of great design to move people.

What You’ll Do

You’ll channel your passion for brand strategy to help nonprofit organizations, philanthropies, and advocacy organizations create meaningful connections with their communities. In this role, you will:

  • Report to the Chief Creative Officer and Creative Director
  • Collaborate with our development team to find creative solutions to UX challenges
  • Inspire our team and clients via Creative Briefs and design presentations
  • Create design mockups of websites and web applications
  • Design logos, visual identities, and brand guidelines
  • Create information architecture (sitemaps and wireframes)
  • Present recommendations supported by rationale and research
  • Participate in discovery activities, including audience research, traffic analysis, interviews, and more
  • Help our team maintain our portfolio of client and internal websites
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

What You’ll Bring

You must have:

  • At least three years of experience as a designer with a portfolio that demonstrates your skills
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Creative Cloud apps
  • Impeccable communication and organizational skills
  • The desire to collaborate and continuously learn
  • An ability to effectively manage your time around multiple projects
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and WordPress is a plus

What You Can Expect

  • ~$75k+ starting salary depending on experience
  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision and disability insurance
  • Profit pool share
  • Flexible environment (a hybrid of both remote and in-person)
  • IRA match
  • Generous paid time off
  • Education opportunities
  • Matched giving
  • Volunteer opportunities

Location

This is a hybrid or remote position with a preference for a hybrid environment in either San Diego (CA), Charleston (SC), or Columbus (OH).
