Addressing the World’s Greatest Challenges
We work with cause-driven organizations because, in part, we are helping them address some of the greatest challenges facing the world today, and possibly no challenge is more urgent than the issue of climate change. If we may borrow the words of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation…
“Climate change is the defining issue of our day. It is a global problem that demands global action.”
Last month we helped the David and Lucile Packard Foundation refresh the ways in which they communicate about this critical issue. The newly developed Climate section of their website provides an introduction to the issue, explains why it’s important, describes their efforts, and provides resources for advocates and supporters engaged in the fight. The facts are alarming, so it’s reassuring to know that such pivotal change-makers such as the Packard Foundation and its Partners are committed to mitigating global climate change.
If you are not familiar with the vital work of the Packard Foundation, if you are not aware of the implications of climate change, or even if you know the facts already, we invite you to check out the new climate section and share it with others.
This is a scary, complex issue but it’s one that we are happy to play a small part in creating awareness around. The launch of this new section is well timed as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced their $1 billion commitment devoted to clean energy research and halting climate change. Even Leonardo DiCaprio took his turn, focusing his Oscars acceptance on climate change. It’s heartening to see this issue being addressed by powerful influencers of all types.
We can all do something about climate change, even if it’s simply becoming informed.
