The Problem:

In the summer of 2008, the California Olive Ranch (COR) came to us to help them establish a stronger online brand as an industry leader, and to build an online presence over which they had complete control.

As business and market share increased, COR’s website remained stationary and lacked a strong visual presence. Prior to our involvement, the site was nearly impossible to update and manage its content. Our task became twofold: align the look and feel closer to the California Olive Ranch branding (bottles, signage and other retail properties) and build a more malleable site that can grow with the company.

Solution:

During our initial engagement, COR was in the process of redesigning their retail packaging. This presented a unique challenge during the design phase. Rather than present complete design composites we took an additional step by designing a series of loose-concept moodboards. The purpose of this task was to approach the design in a “themed” format before honing in on a creative direction subject to change.

We re-built the COR website from the ground up — creating new and compelling content and implementing a content management system for the site the that allowed COR employees complete site-management oversight.
